Spring Summer 2025 Collection: Holi Hope
This collection marks a powerful transition from the Fall's melancholy, muted tones to a season filled with vibrant color and optimism. My journey home to Nepal was a time of deep reflection, reconnecting with my roots as I processed personal changes. The Holi celebration, which coincided with this trip, brought a much-needed release, allowing me to find joy, family and home again, while New York felt increasingly distant amid the nation’s division.
Upon returning to the U.S., I found myself questioning the direction of the country I had come to in search of my dreams, especially as the youth rose and the nation seemed to divide once again. Yet, the rise of feminine leadership brought a renewed sense of hope - a powerful affirmation of matriarchy, femininity and the future. Seeing young people speaking out gave me optimism, inspiring a collection that blends the seemingly opposing worlds, where new ideas of change and the future come alive. It feels as though everything I've championed over the years - femininity with a bite, matriarchal power and stronger in colour - has shaped a dynamic landscape that feels more relevant than ever.
This collection is all about new beginnings - vibrant, adventurous and unapologetically bold. It refines existing ideas while introducing a sense of ease and exultation, and a reflection of my personal hope.
Textures like plissé and hand-done pintucked silk chiffons evolve this season with cotton silks, jersey and crinkled sequins. Silhouettes reflect a mix of East and West, with slouchy ease, drop waists and tailored pieces inspired by American sportswear. Prints feature bold holi splatter drips in black and gold, oversized 3d polka dots and abstract lotus motifs, all crafted from luxurious fabrics like cottons, tropical wool and satin. Playful elements like palm trees and coconuts, symbolizing joy and optimism, are also incorporated. Stronger, brighter hues emerge - rooted in both hope and grit - capturing the optimism that is reflected in our collective consciousness.
Music plays a pivotal role in this show, brought to life by Chloe Flower in partnership with the Manhattan School of Music. Sixteen talented college and graduate student musicians deliver a soundscape that echoes the themes of youth, hope and new beginnings. Their raw energy and precision mirror the emotions of the collection, while set against the iconic backdrop of New York City’s The Archway at 1 Centre Street - a symbol of resilience, history and movement.
This collection, inspired by the vibrant spirit of Holi and the transformative power of feminine energy, embodies a deep hope for the future of our country, and I hope it brings you the same sense of joy, optimism and resilience that guided its creation - for the future is indeed female.
